Decorating Animal Villager Houses, yea or nay?

AND MORE IMPORTANTLY: mayor_zoe, YOUR AVATAR. *have the frantic Groddle banjo in my head now*
ahhhhh GLITCH ;___; *ugly sobs*

Oooh. I'll have to stock my Re-Tail with some hybrid extras then. Color coordinated, because of course~

OH MY GOODNESS. A fellow glitchen! ;__;

I have days where I remember Glitch and spend hours on their website cursing them for leaving it behind. I want to be a millionaire just so I could make them all start it back again. Like- ugh. It was perfection.

You too?! Merengue is equally stubborn about her sea bass - she'll let me have anything but that sea bass.
Tried mailing her stuff of a similar size to no avail....so I kinda give up. =__=

I will never give up! But I'm taking a butterfly war hiatus. So that she lowers her guard...

Have you tried mailing her flowers or a clam-shell music box? I've noticed that they're more likely to display those items than regular furniture items. I was able to get Molly to replace a silly locust by sending her some tulips. c:

I sent her a dandelion. I thought it would look cute in her house. I'm sure it does, not that you can see it there, behind the tiger butterfly.

The four front squares of mine are two pink roses and two pink lilies in a checkerboard pattern. The back four are alternating baskets of peaches and pears. It looks quite pretty, if I do say so myself.

Ouch. She's a tough one. x.x

Oooh. That sounds gorgeous! I did alternating pink and purple roses in the front 4 and then I had 2 pinks sandwiched between 2 purples in the back. But peaches and pears sound muchhhh lovelier. And tastier. :B

Some of my villagers have awesome themes. Fritas (i think that's her name,
...the sheep that's covered in French fries) is decorated with like ice cream bars and picnic tables and looks like a park. Knox has a medieval theme and so do a few others. I bet 3 of them have a bonfire in the middle though.

She really is. You'd think she'd be a bit more of a pushover, being a herbivore and all. As it is, I'm starting to wonder why fauns aren't at the top of the food chain.

I had initially priced everything at 2,000 bells, thinking this would dissuade any animal buyers, but then I actually had a villager ask if they should buy a rose. So I changed to price to 90,000. Now they just come in and catch my attention to tell me that 90,000 is pretty expensive for a flower.

Haha, good luck with that. Their goal is to turn their house into something resembling the storage room of a senile pack-rat. Who is also color blind.

Lol, I know. I'm hoping I can get away with giving them things they have? PeeWee wants to replace his drum set...will he notice if I give him another drumset??

Nah, I'm pretty sure they'll give it back and say they have it already, even if you refurbish it. As far as my memory recalls.

I touched up/am in the process of touching up houses after I sent villagers new clothes. Though I've been somewhat trying to give some villagers' homes bigger makeovers.

Annoying -.- The clothes thing I gave up on. The only villager I was ever successful with was Fuchsia. I sent her a denim vest and she freaking loved it, and looked so rock and roll in it, and she never took it off.

The clothes take patience or luck... not sure which.

If you wrap the first one you send them, it increases chances of them wearing it. If that doesn't work, I usually either wrap the second and send it, or just send them two un-wrapped shirts. I don't think I've had it go further than that- even though Diana definitely put up quite a fight.

They ask me to catch bugs and fish in particular pretty frequently. I normally decline their requests for this if it's a villager I plan to keep, so they retain a normal home. If I don't like the villager then I don't really care, just potential for more items. I sometimes accept the fish requests because I like to keep a fish or two in my own house as a pet of sorts. They don't really seem out of place compared to the bugs, so there's that.

Well, when it comes to the fish, I let Genji keep a shark in his house once. But that's because sharks are badass.

I sent my villagers one article of clothing first, to see if they'd change into it right away (Felicity and someone else were the only ones who did so think), then I sent four all at once and everyone usually changed into what I was giving them after I'd sent the four at once.

Actually, I did catch a shark for Ankha. It looks awesome in her Egyptian tomb house.

I didn't know this. I have to give it a try. I sent shep a denim vest, which he looked great in. Then he waltzed on over to Fauna (my problem villager) and she decided she would also look great in a denim vest. I watched this whole exchange go down, helpless to stop it. They both went skipping happily off... in their matching denim vests. Now Shep is wearing a jersey looking thing and Fauna is obstinately wearing the denim vest.

Fauna just gave Kid Cat her shearling coat. Needless to say, it does not look good with his manly superhero suit underneath. Like... really? x.x I adore Kid Cat, but it is definitely the most aggravating when he changes clothes over anyone else, just because of how ridiculous everything looks.

Why does Fauna have to be such a problem child? Baha.

That's my problem with Ankha. I have some villagers, like Walker, Bam, Agnes, Lolly, Shep, Lobo, and Deli, who can pull of most things pretty easily. But the second Ankha changes her shirt there's a very good chance that she will look ridiculous. I think the special themed villagers are more in danger of destroying their image. Most villagers can change their look without destroying their defining character trait.

yeah i love redecorating villagers' homes, it's my favourite request actually. but it is really infuriating when they replace my things with other stuff like stupid shirts or gifts from other villagers, solely because the things i gift them are rare or refurbished.

mira looks super weird in anything but her original shirt :/ i prefer my animals changing into my custom designs because i feel like i've accomplished true friendship, but i'm sorry mira. you need your zap shirt!

To be honest, I'm way too lazy to try and make my villagers' houses look nice. I may give them something that fits their house if I have it, but I don't go out of my way to do it. Sometimes it's really sad to see that they've messed up their original furniture, though ...

I've done the same thing with Bam! His house has only 1 item that's not from the striped set. Everything else is striped. He's the only one keeping his house is nice order. He's also wearing a nice blue shirt.

I kind of do that for all my villagers if I can. Pashmina's house has the lovely set, and Beau's house has the ranch set. I gave Kidd the green set. I just got Chrissy in my town and I have some of the striped set redecorated to pink leftover that I'm gonna mail her.

To be honest, I'd much rather control the placement of their houses rather than what's inside them x_x
