🎆🍬🍪❄What what things do you love/enjoy in or about December?🛷🎧🎄

I know alot of people struggle this time of year. (starts around the end of October-Mid November). For different reasons. Lack of family, toxic people, busy time of the year for alot of jobs, mental health, demand of expectations, effects of winter weather on the body, effects of the pandemic, ect.
I know I do every year. November - mid January is my most disliked time of the year because of the demand of holidays even though the holidays themselves I do like. And I have other things I struggle with this time of year.
So! I wanted to have a thread about what kinds of things do you really love and enjoy in December despite hurdles and bumps.

December is when everything tends to slow down (work, writing), so it's my recharge month. I've generally got holiday stuff done by Thanksgiving, because I try to find things throughout the year, so it's my time for me.

i really enjoy the weather in november/december since i can't stand warm weather, and also it's just so nice to have an excuse to get cozy in 5 different layers of blankets.

i can excuse "bad" weather in december because, y'know, it's christmas-y!! but when its in january or february it's just inconvenient and yucky 🤮

-Weather is nice
-Christmas
-Love how places in December are decorated
-My birthday is on the 5th
-Stuff is on sale, then l get more of a chance to get stuff
-And more parties to go to

And wet

Love the snow!! It sucks to drive in and it can cut power lines (this happened a couple of years ago and I didn't get power back for several days lollll) but it's really soothing to just sit back and watch it fall. Cover everything. Do it with your hot beverage of choice? Perfect way to spend some time away from the daily hustle.

I usually get depressed around this time of year or it doesn’t go well for me, so probably nothing... lol.

But if I had to say one thing I love about December this year it’s that it’s the last month before the dumpster fire that was 2020 is over.

December is just a very busy month once you're an adult

It marks the end of an extremely tough semester for me. Also I love our Christmas traditions (I’m seriously hoping to experience another Christmas lights drive through this year as it’s one of the more quarantine-friendly activities)!

I love December because everything starts to become festive and lively! The fun part is watching movies and listening to Christmas music while the days start to get closer to Christmas. In fact, I kinda enjoy the days leading to Christmas much more than the holiday itself imo.

I like the cheesy holiday stuff and decorating. Imma get my Christmas decorations out of the storage tomorrow so I'm not rushed like past years. Also I love making wreaths for any season but especially natural looking wintery ones. I have like 6 Christmas wreaths ready to go to replace the autumn ones currently up around my house. Plus looking around the Michael's craft store for winter decor is my jam.

There's not much I like about December since I hate the cold and it's the busiest time of year for me both at work and at home, so I don't get time to enjoy much. Even the holidays are stressful for me. But if I had to pick one good thing, I guess I do like looking at Christmas lights.

It's summer on my side of the world atm, so not sure if this question is geared to me given the reasons, but I'm looking forward to going to the beach now that things have warmed up. Also now that restrictions have been lifted more and I can actually travel to said town where most of the beaches are. It's hitting 90F this week and I am looking forward to packing up my space heater back into its closet.

Holiday-time definitely feels less festive now though because I'm used to it being cold and snowy. I'm glad my landlord still hung up some lights, but I find it a little funny how they look like icicles yet it never gets cold enough here for them to ever form.

i enjoy my birthday >:) i like the holiday music and decorations everywhere too even when i'm not feeling festive.... + i can wear sweatshirts all the time with no worry!

I hate December. It’s dark and cold. It’s Christmas that I enjoy. I enjoy Christmas activities like watching Christmas movies, baking Christmas dessert, and going to the Christkindlmarket. I’m sure I’d love December I lived somewhere where it wasn’t freezing.

December usually means it's both winter break and almost Christmas! This semester I'm starting my winter break at Thanksgiving, but it'll almost be December at that point so it's not that different. I love watching neighborhoods slowly put up their Christmas decorations so everything's sparkling and bright. There's holiday music on the radio 24/7, I shop for gifts for my family, and the cat (who had kittens so we have two cats this year!) climbs into the tree and knocks down ornaments on the carpet. There are piles of wrapped presents absolutely everywhere and there's a gingerbread house kit just waiting to be decorated. I may be an adult but Christmas is just as special to me now as it was when I was a child.

in recent years, december has been a rough month for me and so now, whenever that time of year approaches, i’m honestly a bit weary of it aha.

however, december is exciting for me, too, because of christmas! christmas is my absolute favourite holiday and so i’m always looking forward to the festivities; while my family doesn’t really celebrate christmas anymore, i still love getting to see all of the decorations that people put out and the hustle and bustle that comes with the holiday season!

Honestly, despite feeling a lot of sadness in December for all the usual reasons people talk about (family issues, disappointments with how we wind up being able to spend the holidays, etc) I love Christmas season. I love decorating the tree and filling the house with the scent of pine needles. I hope for snow every December, even though it's rare in my region that time of year. So for me it's always a mixture of sadness and hope/joy. Bittersweet.

I really like December and wintertime because of how it brings people together for the holidays, as well as encourages some much-needed reflection and resetting of your life, especially with the upcoming New Year. And personally, I enjoy cold weather, rain, snow, and warm clothes~ Not to mention, my birthday is in December (the 18th, to be exact), and I absolutely love Christmas! ❤ 💚
