Do you think that instead of making live action remakes of their older animated properties, that Disney should instead be making Broadway shows / musical theater productions of their older animated properties instead?
I at the very least think it is an idea they should consider. We all know how the public feels about their live action remakes, so the less said on that, the better. But with Broadway shows / musical theater productions, those I think would be a hit. After all, The Lion King is the highest grossing Broadway show of all time. The Aladdin play is also very successful, and Beauty & the Beast was also successful and people would love it if it came back.
I'd also would love a Broadway musical for Nightmare Before Christmas. A musical like that for me could easily be one of the greatest musicals of all time, up there with Phantom and Les Mis. I'd also like one for Princess & the Frog too, I think that one would be a lot of fun.
But what do you think? Should Disney make Broadway shows / musical theater productions instead of their live action remakes?
