Debating Time traveling, but worried

So one of the villagers on my dreamies list came up in one of the cycling threads. She's pretty high, so I'm considering time traveling, even though I never do that.
I know my nook stop streak will be crapped out, but I'm worried about other stuff like the nature day event and moving back to today's date when I'm done.
Anyone have any advice? I can wait for a June Amiibo, but that will be a while.

Honestly the only bad parts of time travelling are the weeds and villagers saying youve been gone for a while, but that only happens after about 7 days. If you really want them, go for it!! Dont be afraid, as long as its something morally you're ok with then just have fun with it

I've TT'd extensively and from my experience there aren't any negative bits except for the weeds lol - in previous games TT was risky because villagers can move out without asking for permission, but since they can't in this game you'll be fine

as long as you don't have turnips (they will spoil), there aren't any negative side-effects. it will still be the nature day event when you come back!

i'm in a similar spot, i didn't want to TT for the first year of this game but that would mean waiting forever to get my dreamies, and just hoping that i'll be able to get one of them on the day i happen to have a plot of land open. sounds like you're planning to do what i was thinking of - TTing to get the villager, and then coming back to this date. i say go for it!

I tt a lot, i've tt'd forward months/years for the sake of cycling through villagers - i've skipped forward and back many times in big and small leaps.

The only issue I have come across is an abundance of weeds and even that isn't as bad as it could get in new leaf. Also, as someone mentioned - you're villagers will ask where you have been, but if you time travel forward simply to fully move in a dream villager (as in unpacked and walking about your island) then you can simply tt back to present after and you're islanders will be none the wiser to you having been away. Like, they won't mention it at all.

Don't be too hard on yourself and allow yourself exceptions to your rules!! Just skip ahead for cycling and actually play when it's the real day.

Now is really the only time I've actually considered doing it (though I probably won't). I've got a very short list of Island to-dos left, mostly moving buildings, and demo-ing and rebuilding inclines/bridges. I hate, HAte, HATE, that it takes a day between each one of those. Other than that, I have no desire to TT, though won't hold it over anyone that does.

You tting and then back won’t mess up the nature day event. I didn’t have time to play yesterday until around 11pm so Leif and Redd were long gone by then. I just ttd 5 hours back to get what I needed and ttd back and everything is fine.
