I just killed a perfect fruit tree then cut it down and tried to plant one of it?s fruit in the same spot, and it immediately died. I wasn?t aware of this phenomenon. Do dead perfect trees just result in a permanent dead spot? This is somewhat concerning.

I think what you ended up doing is that you planted a rotten fruit. They look exactly the same as perfect fruit and their only difference is its name if you stand over it for a moment. I don't think you should worry. You probably didn't realize that you planted a rotten fruit so plant an actual perfect fruit there next time and you should get a healthy sprout.

This is more than likely correct. I have replanted perfect fruit trees all the time in my old town with no problems. If perfect fruit trees caused dead spots, people would be making constant announcements about it to avoid having an entire town unable to grow anything. Luckily that is not the case. Just dig up the tree and make sure it is a perfect fruit you're planting.

Can a fruit be rotten if i just shoot it out of the tree a second ago?

When a perfect fruit tree dies, one of their fruit will always be rotten.

Rotten fruit can be useful for catching ants, though once you have that insect you probably just want to throw them out.

Ohh this makes sense. Thank you!

nah. I always plant a perfect fruit in the same spot when the perfect tree died. eg. There will always be a rotten cherry when a perfect cherry dies. DOn't plant that rotten cherry, although it looks like a perfect cherry
