I move away from the others and go down an aisle along from them. I tilt my head as I look for something interesting.

 

[nekosync]

"Chiyoko, check this out," I whisper, passing the ancient book to her. "It's got all sorts of magic spells in here."

 

[TheCreeperHugz]

I try to remember where I've seen the title of the one in front of me before, but I can't. Instead, I take the one from Cordelia, and carefully turn the pages. A lot of the writing is faded from the age so most of it is unreadable.

 

[nekosync]

"There's fire-breathing in it." I say, eyes wide.

 

[Jawile]

(Gotta go for about an hour.)

 

[nekosync]

(Bye, Jawlie!)

 

[TheCreeperHugz]

"Firebreathing is useless without Lumen though... Lumen makes you fireproof, which you need to learn first. I don't think this book has Lumen though..." I mutter, remembering what I found out from reading when I was younger. Unfortunately, the books I used to read never mentioned how to learn the magic, only what it does.

 

[nekosync]

"Lumen." I echo in awe. "I hope we can find that somewhere..."

 

[TheCreeperHugz]

"I'm thinking it might be in that one," I say, pointing to the one with the runes for a title. "Since it's one of the more ancient spells. But I can't read runes..."

 

[nekosync]

"Runes, hm?" I pick up the book. "Oh! Oh! Oh! I remember, my father taught me how to read this!"

 

[TheCreeperHugz]

"Really? So you can read this?"

 

[nekosync]

"Yup!" I grin. I begin tracing my finger along the symbols, and mutter quietly beneath my breath: "Channel all willpower, and exuent as strength..."

 

[TheCreeperHugz]

I watch her in amazement as she reads out the text in the book. She's incredible...

 

[nekosync]

I take a piece of paper, and begin writing down the translation. "Here you go!" I chirp, and give her the slip of paper.

 

[TheCreeperHugz]

"Thanks," I mutter, scanning the piece of paper. "This seems pretty straight forward, should we go outside somewhere to test it?"

 

[nekosync]

"Sounds like a plan! You can lead the way."

 

[TheCreeperHugz]

"I don't suppose you happen to have any matches, do you?" I ask, leading her out. I decide to go to the pool, where there's water in case something goes wrong. "We would Need fire to test it..."

 

[nekosync]

"I can go fetch some from the kitchen inside!"

I dash to the door, and fling it open. Matches, matches, matches...

 

[TheCreeperHugz]

While Cordelia searches for matches, I sit in one of the poolside chairs and try to channel my energy, like the book said. Suddenly, my hand starts glowing. It gets brighter and brighter, and I can't control it. What's going on? This shouldn't be happening, should it?

I finally find the matches, and head to Chiyoko. "Hey I got the ma-" My realization of the glowing interjects my speech. "What's that?!"
