Dark Veil 2

"I don't know! I was trying Lumen, and it started glowing, and now I can't make it stop! I don't know whether it's part of Lumen or not, but I can't control the glow!" I tell her in a panicked voice.

I quickly dunk the glowing hand in the water, but nothing happens. The glow is just as bright as before.
I close my eyes, clear my mind, then focus on dimming the glow. To my suprise, when I open my eyes, it is barely glowing at all.

(Okay Leah ;))
After a while, I manage to stop the glow altogether. "Strike up a match, I want to test the fireproof aspect of this," I tell Cordelia.

I cautiously stick the tip of my index finger into the fire coming from the match. The flame tickles slightly, but it doesn't hurt. I giggle, "This actually tickles!"
I move my hand so that the flame moves up it, and it continues to tickle, until it reaches my wrist, where it starts to burn. I immediately snatch my hand away and dunk it in the pool to cool it down.

"Oh my..." My eyes widen. "I think you need to keep practicing, so your Lumen powers can extend all over your body."

"Yeah, I guess," I reply, pulling my hand out of the water. "The glowing thing is pretty cool too, I think it must be a part of lumen."

I sit down in one of the deck chairs, turning the glow on and off. It gets easier to do every time.

I sit adjacent to her, watching in interest. "If you ever have a book with runes, come to me and I'll read it for you."

I focus my energy into my left hand this time. It glows, but only dimly. Perhaps it's because it isn't my dominant hand...?

I walk to the pool with the book, watching Cordelia and Chiyoko practice their magic.
I open the book and try to read the writing, but it's difficult. Suddenly, a headache kicks in. I squint, and I can read the words more clearly...
