Cyrus randomly unlocked?

My town is only about 10 days old and this happened? I definitely haven't got 100 pieces of furniture either.

To unlock Cyrus, I think you only have to spend/sell a certain amount of bells at Re-tail. Beetle farming on the island unlocks this pretty easily.

this. you have to have sold or bought 100,000 bells worth of stuff, i believe.
and it usually opens after a week of doing so. this is what i read on a website in the past.
