I assume that is the correct way to describe those villagers who show up the next day from the town of whoever came over to pick up a villager from your cycling town: from the 'void.'

For those cyclers who haven't explicitly instructed anyone who picks up villagers to make sure not to have someone in the 'void,' what villagers from the 'void' have you recently gotten? My first was Nan, followed most recently by Cherry. (By the way, if anyone reading this wants Cherry, feel free to shoot me a VM, and you will be the first to know if she's 'in boxes.')

Anyways, for any novice cyclers like me, do you plan to make clear that you don't want people coming to your town if a villager of theirs recently entered the 'void,' or like me do you just not care about it?

Also, for more experienced cyclers, have you made it explicit that anyone going to your cycling town should make sure his 'void' is cleared (if that's the correct way to put it), but still ended up with 'voided' villagers in your town anyway?

Sorry, didn't understand that.

I'll take cherry, but I currently have ten and don't know who will move next...
And by VM do you mean PM? OK!

I was a bit confused in what I was describing, for sure.

I'll let you know when Cherry is 'in boxes,' and you can decide then whether you want her.

As for VM, I mean visitor messaging; there's a tab for it in your profile.

Oh, I did a PM, thought that was a typo, sorry.

Since I started keeping track of who comes & goes in my cycle towns, I've gotten Poppy, Flora, & Marcie from the void. I really don't care who moves in from the void, since they're all leaving eventually. Every villager is usually someone's dreamie, so it was never a big deal to me.

it has not happened to me yet
but since i try to home low tiers, it really would not be a problem.

My first time going to a fellow cycler's town to get a villager from the void: Caroline.

Unsuccessful.

Darn.

i don't remember every villager i got from the void but there are alot. i want to tell people to clear their void before they visit but that'll take too long so i just deal with it.

I have a question about "clearing the void", is it possible that even if you try to clear your void there will still be someone in your void that you will pass to someone accidentally? I have gotten great accidental voided villagers from others, Octavian, and some I didn't want. But I can't imagine being angry at someone for it. Why do people get angry over this?

they probably get mad because they want a perfect town with cute villagers and most voided villagers aren't very cute or because they have plans to use their 10th spot for another villager.

I understand that, but it seems impossible to guarantee that your void is empty. I would hate for anyone to be mad at me if I thought my void was empty and it ended up not being that way.

I like getting random villagers from the void, it is kinda fun to see who shows up. I even got one of my favorite villagers that way, Lobo, so sometimes it pays off to try new villagers :)

I have seen a lot of cycling threads asking for clear voids recently though, so I guess they just don't like those sorts of surprises.

yeah i don't because most likely that void villager won't be adopted (sad but true) and possibly if a non void villager moved in they might have more of a chance of getting adopted. it gets annoying when your whole cycling town is filled with tier 5 villagers that no one wants and then i feel bad for voiding all of them lol

I don't specify, and I hate when it happens. But then again, I am cycling, so I'd rather get stuck with a void than have it happen to someone who has 9 keepers and will take forever to get rid of the unexpected and unwanted 10th.

I can see that being a problem. I don't go as fast as other cycles too and so I think it is a smaller risk for me, than for someone that does a lot of visits.

So is it a guarantee that you can clear your void by visiting other towns? Or is it hit or miss? Has anyone tried it and it didn't work for them? I just don't want to think my void is clear and hurt someones feelings.

I had a Marshal giveaway on the 25th (http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?194472-Marshal-the-smug-squirrel), but he has already moved into my cycling town again because of someone who visited to pick up another villager.

This Marshal has several pieces of furniture replaced, but I get the feeling quite a few people will be happy to invite him to their town when I host a giveaway for him soon.

I am sure quite a few people wouldn't mind getting him from the void. And I soon get to give a second person a free chance to invite their otherwise expensive-to-invite 'dreamie.'

Nice.
