Custom Design Questions!

I tried looking online for answers to my questions but only found them related to New Leaf. When using a custom design for the island flag, if you replace it with something else will the design you had previously stay on the flag? Also, will the custom design stay the same on signposts if you change it later? Thanks, I appreciate the help! I want to use my design slots the most efficiently since they are so limited

From what I've experienced, if you overwrite the custom design your using with another custom design, it will change to the new custom design.

The flag and facepaint will remain the same.

I think the magic wand warns you that it will retain the pattern as it was at the time that you saved it, so if you change it, it won't change the wand outfit. So you might be able to free up some slots that way.
