So let me start by saying I have 0 creative bones in my body :) because of that I was wondering what I would search if I’m looking for those custom design “starter” patterns? Something that will give me a layout to begin with but then can eventually tweak and make them my own. I know some people have searched for a flower pattern for example, and then used the pattern as a guide to start and then can make the design their own. What are those “starter patterns” called and what would I search for to find them? I’ve never made any custom designs on ACNH before so willing to give it a shot if I can get some help with the start of the design.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure but, I sometimes go to animal crossing community and click on the patterns section. There are tons of patterns that players made from long ago ac games. Back then, you couldn't use qr codes to get a pattern. You had to copy each little pixel square.

This works for me because for instance, I wanted a picture of papa Smurf and Smurfette. I found them and copied each one. However, I was able to change the color of the background, and also Smurfette's mouth, because I didn't like how it looked. I once copied a Smurf and was able to give him a chef's hat that I created. Another one, I gave a straw hat. You can also change the colors to your liking. I also used someone's bamboo pattern and another players panda pattern and combined them. I also wanted a wooden sign, but with my town name. No problem. I found a wood pattern and added my own letters.

This takes time, but I do this pretty often. I'm terrible at making designs, and this helps me get what I want.
