I'm creating a custom villager and i needed to know where are the legs and arms? im super confused and cant find a guide anywhere online. pleasee help!!! heres an example sprite (butch) thank you!!!

I don't know enough about ACNL hacking to be really helpful, so hopefully someone else helps.
However, I assume you can inject it and see the villager move around (otherwise what's the point?) and if so, you can do what I did in a different game and write numbers over the different colours. Then when you see it in game, you know what belongs where.
Though, knowing what Butch looks like, I'd take an educated guess that ACNL sprites is built up with the background colour of your image being their base colour and then:
3 = legs
1 &2 = arms
The other brown bits should be the rest of his marks and you might be able to figure those out as well if you look at the texture of some other dog villagers.
