Currently Playing?

I finished playing Split Fiction last week, and that game is so good. Hazelight Studios continues to outdo themselves. I'm currently waiting for Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar to be released, as well as Star-Crossed World for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, both coming out toward the end of the month. In the meantime, I've been casually playing a new island in AC:NH on Switch 2, and I've also been playing around with some of the NSO Nintendo Classics! MarioPaint on SNES is quite cute!

Oo how do you like the switch 2? I’ve heard it’s debatable in battery life, but that the graphics are nice.

Normally I like to play one game only till I finish it but currently switching between Xenoblade Chronicles 1and Hogwarts legacy. I experience open world burnout quickly when it comes to open world RPGs because I feel the need to complete all quests and achievements and explore everything ( and I mean EVERYTHING) so I was obsessed with each game for a couple of days but now struggling to continue even though I really like them. This happened to me with Zelda BOTW a couple of years ago and I never finished the game because I needed to explore every nook and cranny of the map but this gets boring eventually, yet I feel like I can't continue with the main story unless I do so.

I'm really enjoying the Switch 2!

I like to play in handheld mostly, but I've also been playing docked (particularly for Mario Kart World and Split Fiction). I haven't really noticed any differences between playing AC:NH on Switch vs Switch 2. I have nothing but good things to say about the resolution, refresh rate, and processing power overall! I was worried the console would be too large to enjoy handheld, but the screen size is great, and I'm enjoying it more than the Switch. The only bother I've had is that the mechanism for holding the Joy-Cons attached doesn't feel as sturdy as the way the Switch Joy-Cons slide and click in, though the Welcome Tour does a lot to reassure you that the connection is actually stronger. I'm really excited that the Switch 2 has more processing power and can accommodate more games as a result. It obviously can't compare to something like a PS5, but I'm excited to see what will be released for it in the future. I thought I'd continue to use both Switch and Switch 2 consoles, but after moving everything over to the Switch 2, it really does have everything I need given the backwards compatibility for most games.

The one sticking point definitely is the battery life! It was obvious from set-up that it drained power quite quickly. It's definitely a consideration for someone who might want it for a lot of traveling, commuting, etc., but because I'm happy to play in handheld with it also plugged in, it's not much of a bother for me. Having 2x USB-C ports is neat, because I like having it plugged into the top USB-C port.

Ooo those are good things to know!! Yeah we considered them, but we have the Zelda OLED switches, and I’m not ready to give mine up yet. 😂 I think maybe in a year or so we’d upgrade. I’m glad to hear the refresh rate and everything is living up to the hype! 🤩

New Horizons. I just restarted a new island about two weeks ago and I've made great progress! (time traveling... ofc 😅 ) I've never actually finished decorating an entire island before so that's my current goal. Along with catching all the bugs/fish/completeing museum/etc. I always got bored and quit before accomplishing anything major. I'm having a lot of fun though and I can definitely see myself reaching those goals with this island!

I also recently re-subbed to FFXIV (Final Fantasy 14) for 7.3, but I haven't actually played anything yet since I've been so sucked into ACNH. I'm almost caught up with the story though. Sadly I probably won't feel the want to play super seriously again until 7.5 drops or the new expansion is revealed or even released. So for now, I'm in ACNH hel-I mean heaven 😏💜

I’ve been playing Fields of Mistria on my new Steam Deck and it’s the most fun I’ve had with a farming sim since I first played Stardew Valley nearly a decade ago. The game is so cute and pleasant to play. The pixel art is well made, the controls feel nice, and the characters are diverse and fun to interact with.

I am glad I waited until now to play it since the game is still in early access and now it has a good amount of content to play through.

I started playing Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar today! 🎉I'm about 12 in-game days into the game, and so far, so good! I'm really enjoying it. It was hard to put it down a couple of times, because there's a lot of new tasks/interesting things happening in those initial in-game days.

Shantae: Risky Revolution on the Switch. It’s pretty cool how this cancelled game got a revival and release much like Metroid Dread. The game is a nice balance of difficulty where it isn’t too easy but not so hard that you keep dying every five seconds.

Lately playing Final Fantasy 9 and Animal Crossing new leaf, i love the vibes of both a lot. They are so relaxing to play after a hard day at my internship. I just prepare my coffee in the evening and light my globe light and enjoy their slow paced gameplays and cute graphics.
