I made a thread like this a couple of months ago and the response was veeeeery widely 2D. :)
I never play in 3D because it makes me head ache and whenever I move a tiny bit it gets messed up.

I voted for Sometimes. It's literally the one game that bothers my eyes. I think for me it's too much texture in 3D, like the trees and flowers going by when I run is just a lot. Also since i played so much, a good 5 hours a day or more. But I can play Harvest Moon: ANB in 3D for the same amount of time and it's not as bad, so I think it's just a lot of flashing and blurry fast moving textures that kill it for me. But I do play in 3D if I'm being extremely leisure and walk around lol

My flatmate has a 2DS (which is awkward as heck to play on) and he's like "I wish I had 3D"

lol no u don't.

I get it actually, that your friend wants a 3DS.
It's more comfortable to play on I find. I checked out the 2DS at a multimedia shop the other day and hated it.
I'm glad I got the 3DS XL even if I never play in 3D, because it's just so much better in shape and size to me.
(besides I really wanted that yoshi edition).

I don't either. I use the 3D sometimes with other games but never with AC.

No, I always play with 3D switched off. My optic nerve in one of my eyes is damaged because of an autoimmune disease, so it doesn't 'work' even if I turn it on. :p At least it seems I am not missing out on much. :D

My XL is pink and I looove it

Months after Pokemon X & Y came out and I had beaten the games, my friend with a 2DS asked me, "So, what's the 3D like on Pokemon?"
And I had to look at him and say, "I don't know, I never tried."
We tried it out and he suddenly had even more reasons to tell me why the 2DS was better (but no worries we're still great friends, products got nothing on us)
I think I played ACNL in 3D like the first two days. I let someone see my XL & they reminded me the feature existed (again). It was funny though, because apparently that guy plays in 3D all the time. When I handed it to him he was like, "You don't play with 3D on?" and this time it was totally judging.
/I seriously always forget
/When I clean my 3DS and move the slider up on accident, I start my game confused as heck.

3D on Pokemon is slightly embarrassing, HEY IT'S 3D POKEMON jk only 20% of the time. It's more 2D than 3D right? I mean maybe anyway. Most of the walking is 2D, and all battles except 1v1 is 2D. It's odd how it's actually just right though. I enjoyed the 3D/2D it offered anyway

I don't use it, I do find it rather annoying and ridiculous like the others. I have to remain in a completely still, locked, and uncomfortable position for it to even work.

I think the 3D in this game looks great.

...If you can manage to find the perfect angle and remain perfectly still, that is.

Which I personally can't, so I never use it.
