Could Dr. Shrunk Be In The Game Soon?

I randomly talked to Merengue and she mentioned Dr. Shrunk, but a book by him. I don't recall ever seeing this anywhere before.

Honestly who knows! I agree with meggiewes that so far its just an easter egg. Personally I didn't really care for Dr. Shrunk in NL and wouldn't mind if he never showed up in NH unless his role was changed, which is very likely if he does indeed arrive since we already learn emotions from villagers.

Seeing as reactions are already in the game, I don't see much reason for him to be there. If I'm honest, I hope he doesn't come back. I never really liked him, and I love axolotls but he looks so ugly! I'd rather have Brewster or Copper and Booker, or even someone like Wild World's Lyle. And if he comes back, I hope Fillard is there too at least.

I doubt he'll make a return. I think it's more likely that an NPC like Katrina or Brewster will make a return, although I wouldn't say that either of those two are necessarily likely, either. And even if an NPC does make a return, it might just be a cameo-esque appearance, similar to Rover in the May Day event awhile back.

i really hope he comes back at some point but i’m not sure what role he’d have since the villagers teach us reactions now - but since my island is literally called axolotl, i need to see dr. shrunk at least once or else i’ll cry

I hope they add him into the game at some point! It was really fun seeing my villagers dance in club LOL and KK as they DJ. I also hope they give us the Dr. Shrunk dance as a reaction, that would be amazing!

It's definitely a possibility! I mean, I'm guessing the dialogue is just a cute Easter Egg, but lately EVERY update includes some new (old) faces! So who knows? He'd likely have a new sort of role, though, but he's proven to be versatile in the previous games

Maybe if/when they introduce The Roost, he can perform sometimes? Or... since we learn reactions in a different way, let US perform? And reward us with show business themed DIY recipes? That'd be WILD

I actually would love to have Club LOL again. It's nice to have night life on the island every once in a while.

Also, I would love Shrunk to give us more "actions" instead of reactions. Like sitting on the ground, rolling on the ground, jumping, backflip or cartwheel, workout and yoga actions, etc.

He might come back if the Club returns, and I think DJ KK will come back too and not just as usable amiibo (otherwise why would they prevent us from using DJ KK at Harvey's island now?).

In the direct, I remember her saying "we plan to support additional characters later" and the game said DJ KK can't be used right now.
The same was said for Pascal since I have his amiibo card but now it works since he's been added back.

So maybe Shrunk will have some role in the club with DJ KK if it returns. I think DJ KK will come back based on the evidence above tho.

Given that Nintendo has gotten rid of so many old NPCs, I'm not holding my breath on whether or not they bring him back. Heck, we don't have any clarity about whether or not Brewster and the café will be brought back, arguably a more important feature that reactions considering that we already have a way to get those.

If Nintendo were to add him back, I like the idea of including him in Club LOL. Maybe they could introduce a new building for that and D.J. K.K. could be brought back? Or, if they don't want to do something that extensive, even just seeing him as an occasional visitor to Brewster's Café could be fun. To ensure that he's not useless, maybe he could be a special visitor - and if you serve him enough good coffee, he'll give you something special?

I agree that it would be really fun to have him as an occasional visitor at The Roost! They could have occasional live entertainment like they used to. I actually like Shrunk just because I'm really into stand up and I always thought it was so cute to go to a little in-game show. But learning his dance was definitely the best part, so I would be totally happy if we just got that back.

Maybe once we get the Roost he'll show up, but at the moment he'd need a completely new role.

If it helps, the shrunk dance reaction is in the game files but is unobtainable atm. it also has no icon.

I think at the very least he will show up for an event of some kind. I don't miss him though.
