Cooking Mama controversy apparently

I haven't played much of these games. There was one that just came out for the switch. It got recalled pretty quick. Turns out in can crash and overheat the switch. There is also mention of drama including crypto currency. What the heck?

I was interested in this when it was announced but kind of forgot about it until I started hearing weird things about it. All I had heard was that a lot of retailers, including the eShop, had pulled it. I hadn't heard anything about it cooking the Switch.
I'd thought about buying a copy a couple days ago but I'd rather not take the chance if it can mess up your Switch.

This is indeed the issue. There's no cryptocurrency mining or anything.
Sadly this game will skyrocket in price because it'll become extremely scarce very quickly if it isn't already.

Not really on Cooking Mama itself or the IP overall, just the company that tried to use the IP without permission.

I really should have grabbed it when I saw it on eBay for $40 the other day, but I have a feeling we will probably see it get a proper release.

This article appears to clear up some of the confusion and responds to the rumours: Cooking Mama: Cookstar publisher says delays to blame for delisting.

My copy says it began processing yesterday and is due to be released tomorrow (although previously listed the date as late April). Fingers crossed this means they actually have copies!

I heard about this D= apparently some copies were being sold , ( my big bro was going to get me one ;; ) but it wasn't an official release. I wonder if they will fix it.

I think that since both companies reached the airing their grievances pubicly stage, it’s unlikely anything else is going to be done with the game.

from what i heard, the switch overheats bc cooking mama was made in unity

cryptocurrency thing is obv a rumor (nintendo wont allow it), and apparently it got reclaimed for copyright infringement of some audio files
