confusing villagers with other villagers

i have a really bad habit of accidentally calling pietro "julian." this is really dumb because

• they're 2 different species and look completely different
• they're both well-known villagers that nearly everybody knows the appearance of
• pietro shares my birthday and you'd think his name and appearance would be burned into my mind at this point

the only justification i can come up with is that, in my mind, julian is a more fitting name for a clown than pietro and so when i see the name "julian" i think of pietro instead of the actual julian.

it doesn't go both ways, though. i don't think of julian when i see the name pietro, i just think of pietro. (unless it's not in an animal crossing related context)

i usually figure out my mistakes soon enough but i'm scared eventually i'll make a comment on this forum (or somewhere else) calling pietro "julian" and then confusing people.

do you ever confuse villagers with other villagers?

I always mix up Static and Bob. I have them both in my town and they have the same color, so I tend to get the names confused on occasion.

If you ever make a mistake, you can just edit your post. Only problem is that you lose Bells for doing so (which makes no sense and should be 'fixed').

I always get Baabara and Cashmere mixed up due to both of them looking nearly exactly the same. Another two villagers I always get mixed up are Sally and Hazel because originally Sally was called Hazel in the original GCN games and there was another villager in the GCN games called Sally. Due to a translation error in Wild World, Hazel ended up being re-named to Sally so the original Sally had to be renamed to Cally. To make the confusion even worse, they later added another villager called Hazel in New Leaf. The worst part is that they are all squirrels too!

I tend to want to call Diana and Fauna each other's names a fair bit.

I don't ever confuse my villagers for each other, but when Olivia is behind a tree at night in the summer, I've mistaken her red tail for a scorpion.

You don't lose TBT for editing posts. You lose bells for "deleting" the old post and gain bells for your new edited post. So you only lose TBT if your edited post is shorter than the original.

never confused villagers but often I switch their name because I usually play my country version and the names are different or sometimes I forgot them (this started since I stopped playing)

I do not understand why there is one character named Nan and a different one named Nana. I am unsure if it is the same in other country names; but they could have at least made one of them Nancy or Nanette.

I once had Chow and Pinky in the same town. They're both bears and identical except for color. Pinky was white and Chow was pink. Feature that.

Omg i was gonna say the same thing. Lol. When I started my new town i got random move in and it said it was a plot for Tammi's house. I kinda got excited thinking it was a cute bear cub. It wasn't. Tammi is a monkey villager, and Tammy is the bear cub xD

I've had a similar experience with Kitt and Kitty. I was resetting for my new town and I ran into one that had both Kitt and Kitty in it. It's kind of like having two people in the same class with either the same name or a variation of the same name lol.

If you haven't noticed its probably because of their voices and since they are both smugs. Its dumb that each villager doesn't have their own personality but I guess its too hard for Nintendo to do that. Maybe they will change it on the Switch if the release an AC game for it ^^

In an older town back in November, I had Harry the cranky hippo. For some weird reason, I kept calling him Frank.. The actual Frank(the green cranky eagle) wasn't even in my town, so I don't know why his name was in my head everytime I saw Harry..

I still don't see why we should lose TBT just for editing a post to make it shorter and less page-filling.

Oh, that's probably because you might have never grew up having Hazel (now known as Sally) in a GCN town. I grew up with a town that had Hazel in it for quite a while. Whenever I see her, I'm always about to call her Hazel but then I realise that she got renamed to Sally so instead I say Sally quickly enough so I don't accidentally call her Hazel. I wonder why NoA couldn't have just seen the mistake and corrected it as opposed to leaving it and renaming another villager.

oh, that's another one! i always mix up frank and keaton's names. one of them lived in my town for a short time but without looking at your post i wouldn't even remember whether his name was frank and keaton. (it's frank in case you're wondering)

I mixed names with Sterling and Pierce. I would call Pierce 'Sterling.'

The reason why I mixed them up is that:

1. I watched this animation of AC where one of the villagers is called Sterling. And the animation was stuck in my head. ._.
2. They are both jock.
3. I forget Pierce's name. ._. Even when he used to be in my old town.

Ugh I have this problem with Cherry and Cheri. Never had either in my town so I'm not very familiar with them, but when I see their names mentioned here it takes me a moment to put a face to the name lol.
