completing flower set

I have already received all of the flower set furniture that Leif will give me in my own town. I want to complete the set, but I'm not sure how this works in practical terms. I have to go to other players towns who have lots of weeds? But doesn't that mean visiting towns where the player doesn't play very often? Or do some players let their weeds grow just to help out other players? What happens if I visit a player's town on weeding day, but they don't have weeds? I'm a bit confused about how this actually works. How many weeds do I need to pull in someone else's town in order to get furniture?

I've actually done this, but it has been a while. Leif can show up when he feels there are too many weeds around, or on Weeding day. One of them had a timer and I think I just got one item, pretty sure they had more than 30 weeds. Another time I was able to pull multiple groups of 30 weeds and one item per 30.

Also U.S., Japan and Korea have weeding day on different days. I would like to do this again as well.

Yeah, that's how you get them in your own town, but, from what I've read, you can only get four, maybe five, of the set from your own town. The rest of the items you have to get from other towns. But, that would require going to a town full of weeds. Which, would mean someone's town who is deliberately letting weeds grow (?) or not playing much. I'm not sure how that part works. Leif can be found sleeping outside during the year. It's usually around your house and the amount of weeds start around 50.
Host opens the gate and when the visitor arrives the Host wakes Leif up to get the count started.
After the visitor pulls all the weeds they get an out of town or an in town gift. The host always gets an in town gift.

I have a spare town and my real towns players have got a lot of in town gifts only.
You could try posting in the train station online to see if anyone needs their towns weeds removed.

Another option would be to buy the items on the trading board.
