Why can't I ever find one of these? Any tips? I know they come out when it's raining.

They're hard to find as it is so you have to keep trying. They appear when it's raining (or snowing, I think) and only at night (4 PM to 9 AM). If you Google it, you'll find a lot of descriptions and pictures of what their shadow looks like in the water, if that helps

It has to be raining in order for to show up. Snow counts as well. It is also extremely rare and most confuses it with the size of a Sea Bass. The Shadow is actually different if you look closely.

I think it also has to be in the ocean, just go for the biggest of the shadows (no fin) and you'll be good to go. They're just rare and hard to catch : )

Yes Ocean. I know this sounds stupid but once you've caught one, you will realize that the shadow is slightly different from sea bass. The sea bass shadows are stumpier and fatter compared to the coelacanth? The Coelacanth tends to be a bit longer and slender, if i remember correctly.

This is correct. However, this size is also shared by tuna, oarfish, marlin and napoleonfish.

Most important tip, don't freak out, concentrate (if you struggle with timing, don't look at the screen, use the sound as timing for the button).

What- Biggest shadow without a fin (looks like sea bass)
Other- While raining or snowing

I'm pretty sure I almost had one but I got too excited and hit the button too soon it was thin and long.

Also a little trick to help you spawn one a bit fast is to run around just a bit at the smaller shadows, scaring them away.

It takes a long time for the fish to leave on their own, so if you scare the ones you dont want off then new ones come up, that increases the chances of the Coelacanth coming up
