Clearing the Void?

My sister got my Freya from my town when I went to her town. In NL you could clear your void by visiting someone's 10 villager town. Is that how it works in this game too?

I have no idea if clearing your void is even possible; visiting a town with a full 10 villagers definitely doesn't clear it any more, though. I visit my boyfriend's town several times a week, and for the past several weeks I had all 10 villagers. But as soon as a plot opened up I got his old Zell, who moved out over six weeks ago. We had both visited other players' 10-villager towns since then as well. The void is . . . very persistent in this game.

I think the only way you can avoid getting voided villagers is by inviting a villager on the very first day you have an open plot.

I wish you could clear the void... there must be so many villagers there considering I was moving them out with amiibos, not to mention the fact that I’ve traded with so many people!
