clarification on re-tail rules

I recently learned how to hack my town. I know selling items you get from hacking is against the rules, but does anybody know if giving away items is? I'd love to start a thread where I give away rare items that people need but have not been able to get a hold of, because I know how frustrating that can be. I was planning on making sure people knew the items were obtained through hacking but I can't find anything about giving away in any rules. Thanks!

Safe to assume that ANYTHING involving hacking is a big no-no here, no matter how altruistic the motives may be.

You can't exchange any hacked items here. You can give away your perfectly 100% legitimately acquired items* here though *cough cough*.
