Dogs and cats are both great pets. If I were to pick from one though, I'd get a cat because I can relate to them the most, what with their laziness and all that. ^_^" Dogs, on the other hand, are too much for me. Unfortunately my mom wouldn't let me get a cat and she's always insisting on getting us a dog...

it really depends, and I can't say for sure which I prefer. if I had to choose between cats or my golden retriever, then I'd def pick my dog bc he's the bestest boy ever. but like, if I had to choose between a cat and a small/hyper dog, then I'd pick the cat. I think in general I'm more of a cat person, but there are some dogs that I like more than cats.

I used to be more of a cat person but I honestly can't stand their litter box 🤢 def need to get a self cleaning box for my kitties. my golden just goes outside haha.

For me, I like cats more.I do like dogs but sometimes they startle/scare me, mostly larger dogs. I don’t like them jumping on me. I prefer cats partly because I have trouble taking care of myself so taking care of a dog would be a challenge for me, also, because I don’t like leaving the house a lot. Cats are more independent, which I like. I don’t believe one to be better than the other; it all comes down to preference and also how they are treated. Cats are more of what i prefer and need; they’re wonderful source of comfort to me ☺️

i like both! i own both cats and dogs. i am also an animal person all around though so that’s not surprising.

I love them both, but I'm definitely a dog person. The unconditional love and affection of a dog is practically a necessity for me. As much as I love cats, I don't click with them all that well because I'm very touchy-feely with my animals. Cats tolerate me at best. So while I've owned cats and loved them, I still need a dog to snuggle with.

I knew the results before I even voted. This is a very feline friendly forum.
I will always pick a dog over a cat. I just interact with them better.

Cats for sure. I like dogs, especially other peoples, but I don't have much of an interest in owning one myself. I don't like how loud they are, or their saliva, and I don't like the idea of picking up fresh poop tbh. I've taken care of a dog when I was housesitting, and it was going through teething as well which was painful, both physically and mentally. But to be fair I've had cats around for most of my life and am used to them, and I still do like dogs and think they're cute. I'm also allergic to both (I still have two cats though and suffer)

I've always been more of a dog person. Though if I had to own my own pet, I'd go for a cat because like Corrie said
Cats are a hobby, dogs are a lifestyle.
I wouldn't have the energy to make my dog happy on a daily basis, they're such adorable balls of energy that require a lot of attention, my lifestyle wouldn't match with them!

For sure! I'm in the same boat and it's good that you recognize that about yourself because there are lots of people out there that can't raise dogs but have one anyway. So you end up with a bored dog who barks and annoys the neighbourhood because the owners just toss it outside to amuse itself. Or it's locked inside all day long while the owners are at work and it nonstop barks.

I like them both equally for different reasons, but voted for cats since they’re easier to take care of and as someone with executive functioning issues that’s really important. My first word was also kitty so it’s almost like I was meant to choose this.
