Can't take photos in AC:NL

For the past few days, when i've tried to take a photo of something in AC:NL, i can't do it. The screen just sort of freezes for a couple of seconds, before an error message scrolls across the top of the screen in blue saying, "An error occurred while trying to access the data on the SD card." The only possible explanation i can think of is that it somehow got damaged when my console fell off my bed while i was playing the other day, but it didn't fall more than a couple of feet onto the carpet and everything seemed fine at the time. Yesterday, i turned it off and took the SD card out to check it but i couldn't see anything obviously wrong so i put it back in, but the problem still remains.

Any advice/help would be appreciated.

Seems like your SD card broke. Whether it was from the fall, or from taking it out, sounds like it's having some issues. You could try dusting it off and dusting the area where it resides off? I've NEVER had an issue with mine so I can't really say for sure ):

Since I would think if it was damaged and can't put things on because of that, your saves files wouldn't be accessible either? If that makes sense. ^^'

Not if it's a physical copy. If they have a physical copy the only thing that'd freak out would be her streetpass/spotpass iirc.

Good point.
If it isn't damaged too much that it can still be put onto the computer and accessed, it isn't hard to transfer all the stuff over. ^^'

Make sure the SD card isn't in the "locked" position. It's possible the little switch might have moved when you dropped the system.
