Hi. I've been recently trying to save C4d Abstracts from Planetrenders to use in my sigs. I save them as PNG files, because someone told me this was the right thing to do.

However, when I then try and open it into Photoshop Elements 6.0, it comes up with the message saying,
"Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file."

Does this mean anything to anyone, and if so, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I dont think you need to save them as PNG.

Most of them are already PNG when you save them from Planet renders.

I think they were telling you to save your signatures as PNG files instead of JPegs not the C4ds though.

Those should be the right format already.

"The only solution that I can think of to open the file is open it to another editor, like Microsoft Picture Viewer. Save it as PNG again, then open it again in Photoshop and it works just fine."

Took that from a site, it might work.

I dont even think you can use c4ds/renders without them being PNG format since the background wont be removed and instead replaced by white.

They should auto save as PNG marcus im like 90% sure

kk, so when you make them you just copy the background/render from where you got it from?

Hmm not sure what you mean.

but all you have to do is right click save image as then name it if you wish and it should be good to go.

When you save directly from the site you don't have to do anything else, you should only worry about the PNG format whenever you are saving a Signature/or anything else that YOU make on photoshop.

PNG is way better quality than JPEG therefore your sigs will look better.

But that's the problem, saving directly from the site won't come up in my PS, it comes up with that message :/

No worries, I just copied it from the site and pasted into PS.

Well that also works, only thing that sucks about that is that you wont be able to keep any of the abstracts.

What do you mean about keeping the abstracts?

Anyway, I've almost finished one, mind if I PM it to you for CC when it's done?
