So I have this problem, even though I have weird villagers that I don't like, like Marcel and Big Top, I just can't let them go. Each time I feel a bit sad and can't tell them to leave =(

It's like my "little family" that I learned to like despite their weird... things.

Am I alone?

me too i cried when i let drago move... idk why but i get attached and alot of people think its dumb but whatever i don't care. lolly pinged me the other day and i told her yes because i have so many normals but then i just felt sad so i didn't save and told her no lmao

There's nothing wrong with getting attached to one of your villagers. I think it's sweet!

Except Hamlet, I still have my original folks from July 2013. I've lost Hamlet due to an extended time where I couldn't play... I miss that lil' hamster... ;___;

I'm the same way, the first time I let go of a villager (one I didn't really like) I felt so bad and regretted it even though I didn't mind in the long run

I can't count how many times I've thought to trade Genji for another Jock villager or just a different villager.
Only for him to do something cute and me to find a really cute fanart of him.
*shakes fist*
Everyone else in my town I can never let go, with them I have too close of a bond to them.

This is how I felt, after buying my first copy last August of "Animal Crossing: New Leaf," with regard for villagers in my first town Applewin.

I eventually got over that, because I wanted the likes of Julian and Stitches to be living in Applewin, and so I compromised: I kept Applewin originals Jambette, Scoot, and Twiggy?who were there on Day #01 (08.17.2013)?and I also kept Kidd. I accidentally lost Drago in a mistaken TT adventure. But, all in all, it's good that I did this.

I am sure somebody on here could help you get that lil' dude back :)

I have like- a group of four that can't leave.

But some I'm okay with passing around and through. I don't want to have the same villagers forever. Except for those four I mentioned.

B-Bunnie ; ;

Yeah... I'm not really a fan of Amelia, but I can't tell her to leave. ; u ;
But when villagers like Kid Cat tell me they want to leave, "Why doesn't Amelia ask to leave instead?" pops into my head. ( = 7 = );;;;;
I don't often have Snooty villagers living in my town, so their personalities are a lot more .. jarring, I guess, then the two-per-village Cranky villagers.
I never had an issue with Mallary, though.

Know the feeling too, I wanted a avian only town...period.
It was sad to see Kid Cat, Bones, and Maple go but at least I see a few of them in my Main Street.

When Frank moved in unexpectedly I wanted him to got at first because I had my heart set on Apollo. But I grown to really, really love him. So I guess he'll never will leave now.

You're not the only one!
I feel guilty because they were so nice to me and here I am, "get out." DX
