Can't get a fly to spawn?

Anyone else having trouble getting a fly to spawn? I've had 10 pieces of trash out on my island (boots, tires, and cans) for days and still haven't had a fly spawn.

Not on the beach, just in front of my house. Do they spawn more commonly there?

i think so, i had so much rubbish on my island with no flies and i tried putting some on the beach and not even 5 minutes later one appeared ☆

Not sure if they spawn more frequently on the beach, but I had better luck there because it is more open so I didn't accidentally scare it off. I was able to approach more carefully and snag it.

I've gotten a Fly or two to spawn in front of my house via a rotten turnip, but only after positioning it in such a fashion that the Ant hill/trail wouldn't be able spawn.

if i'm correct, it's mostly just rng, so just make sure to check them regularly!

i'd personally make sure that you secluded at least one of them, that way it's easier to see and such. beach would be a good spot for this as others have said.

it's mostly a game of patience though, flies seem to be a bit tricky to make spawn. Good luck!!

I've gotten flies on the beach as well

I've only seen one fly since I've played this game, and fortunately I caught it. I left a can and a boot on the beach and I haven't seen any since.

I put trash right outside my house and it took about 5 days for a fly to appear >.<.

It took me like a month for one to spawn while i was tting to move villagers, but my brother got some waaay faster than me. You might be more lucky using rotten turnips.
