So I tried campsite resetting just now, and found out that Ricky is moving in tomorrow. I have 9 villagers right now. Is there any way that I can just load up the present and invite a villager I want more into my town, to ward him off? Or would the game just not let me invite anyone in because it knows that Ricky is destined to move in tomorrow?

No. I remember someone saying a while ago that if you invite more than one villager over to your town, only the first one will move in. I guess the game works in a first come, first serve basis.

If you're on the same day, you can invite a villager from somewhere else, which will cancel out Ricky moving in because the other villager you invited in was the last one you asked to move in.

Time to hit up the Villager Trading Plaza!

But also I won't get my hopes up too high, because RiceBunny just said the opposite thing, heh.

I don't think so because he has put his plot down right? Once they have a plot down the game knows they are moving in and they can no longer be canceled out. But if there is no plot then the most recent invited villager will cancel out any-other move ins.... I think :3

I can't confirm it since I'm going on what people have said, not actual experience. So if Vizionari is talking from experience, then I'd go with what she said. ^.^ Good luck~

If Ricky is a streetpass/wifi move-in, you can override him. I think the only ones you are stuck with are campers you've invited. I tried to override a camper I invited in and villagers would not even bring up moving to my town.

oh really? I never knew that :c

Neither did I. The more you know.

Anyway OP I assume that you haven't loaded up your mayor yet. I'd keep resetting. Have you ever had 8 villagers?

Yeah, I reset a few times to make sure. The plot kept moving around, but it was Ricky every time. I got him because I did a wifi trade, which is pretty risky if you have 9 villagers. If inviting a different villager today won't work today, I'll just have to learn to love the unibrow tomorrow. Because I've heard that moving out a 10th doesn't work.

Yes you can override him. If invited from a campsite, i believe they give you two days until he actually sets his plot in your town.

8/24/14 - You invited Ricky
8/25/14 - Load up a new character, if you don't see his plot ANYWHERE (check all the corners), save with the new char and delete him.
8/25/14 - Load up mayor and invite whichever villager you want, this will override Ricky's invite.

(same concept goes for streepass/wifi voids)

However you cannot invite a villager on the same day you invited Ricky, the game only allows you to invite one villager per day. So if Ricky's plot shows up 100% on 8/25/14, then you can't override his invite.

Hope that explains it?

Hmm...it's a WiFi or a StreetPass for sure. Also the "can't move the 10th" is total and utter BS. I have done it myself.

Hoo boy. His house shows up every time I reset. Time to learn to love him, I guess, but I'll still try to invite someone just in case.

has this been proven?
I definitely couldn't move out my 10th that I invited
but never checked with wifi/streetpass villagers if the 10th could move out b4 anyone else

If you don't talk to ricky past the introduction he won't stay for very long, I'm having an issue because I invited axel (in order to get him to move out so that I was closer to getting Mira again) and now his plot is here the very next day all ready to be the 10th guy but lolly's camping here and I want her instead, then what can you do? plus I always play as mayor

I can't prove anything, all I can do is claim. But I have done it myself before. Also you are correct on the second part.

*cries*

Ricky is so hideous.
I really am sorry.

I guess I should research more about villager move ins/outs.

It's okay! It's pretty much impossible to avoid wifi move ins/outs unless you have 10, so I shoulda been more careful.

EDIT: No one has Bob anywhere. Dangit.

I've always heard this as well. IF they have already set the plot, then they will move in. :c It's very annoying, I know.
Once they move in though, you can try the ignoring trick to make them move as fast as possible. In that case, you only talk to them ONCE to have them introduce themselves to you, then you avoid them like the plague from then on. You can't talk to them again, or even bump into them. Just pretend they don't exist. Eventually, hopefully within about a week, they will move out.

I thought I was on the 25th but I must have actually been on the 26th or something, because that little butthole set up a plot when I loaded up my mayor. Someone tried to give me Bob but I couldn't invite him in. I should have checked with a new character, but I was so sure it was the 25th. Now I'm stuck with him and no Bob and TTing him out will probably take weeks.

I hate this game.
