Can you name every state?

Yes. I learned early on but I had to teach myself because it was never taught in school, and we weren't tested on it 'til the beginning of eleventh grade, which I thought was kinda weird.

I can name the provinces of Canada (was forced to know them since I live in Canada xD)

i might, but im not sure. i used to know all of them, but theyve probably faded from my memory by now.

I'm Australian and I'm pretty thankful we only have 7 (well 8 really) states/territories haha!

This is how I feel about our thirteen. Super easy.

Also jealous US got an Animaniacs song, that was one of my favourite shows as a kid! I couldn't even find a good video of the one I learned in school, "The Provinces of Canada are Fun to Remember!". It even lists them from east to west but unfortunately omits the territories.

I can't name every state on the spot, but I know of every state...if that...counts?

I remember learning a couple years back that West Virginia is a state, so odd. I never heard of anyone living in West Virginia, I just thought people meant the west side of Virginia haha

It's really creepy to me that children have to remember and recite the pledge of allegiance daily.

I've done this for six years straight. I can do it rigth here and right now.

And lemme see...

Alabama
Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Conneticut

Nope. I can't.

I used to know a song, and I still remember parts of it. Hold on.

Alabama Alaska Arizona Arkansas California Colorado Connecticut Delaware Florida Georgia Hawaii Idaho Illinois Indiana Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maine Maryland Massachusetts Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Montana Nebraska Nevada New Hampshire New Jersey New Mexico New York North Carolina North Dakota Ohio Oklahoma Oregon Pennsylvania Rhode Island South Dakota Tennessee Texas Utah Vermont Virginia Washington West Virginia Wisconsin Wyoming

If you're wondering, I wrote those all as fast as I could sing the song to myself so there's no commas in between them. At least back when I was younger, you did learn all of the fifty states in Music. :p

I learned a states song for a play in like second or third grade and somehow, I still remember it, so I can name them. I had to learn all of the capitals in fourth grade, too, but there was no song, so I retained none of them. It's a wonder I can remember the capital of my own state.

Can you Americans also name all of the presidents?

I know no one who can do that. I can name the first five+a few more+the last four or so on a good day.

We had to learn a song in second grade with all of the names. Surprisingly, I still know it.

Yep. Music class taught me a song in 1st or 2nd grade which listed all of the states in alphabetical order. Then later on, I learned the Animaniacs song badcrumbs listed.

I even know all of the counties in my state, as we were taught them in alphabetical order in 5th grade. We weren't quizzed on it; it was more for fun, but I still remember them all (yes, in alphabetical order).

When I was about 11, my music teacher made us learn a song that listed the states in alphabetic order. Even if I didn't learn that song, I could probably manage to list them all, given some time.

I can name the Canadian provinces (and the Greek alphabet because I learned in in grade 5 for some reason, is that close enough?)
