I was wondering if there was a way to manipulate time so that once you have a villager in boxes they won't leave if you reset the game to the same date?

There have been a few times where people I've traded with have backed out last minute and I'm left late at night with a cute villager all packed up with no where to go.

I am currently doing that. I just reset twice a day to 7 AM until the spot opens for Skye. I don't mind at all except it's Harvest festival on the day I'm resetting and the music sounds like some hokey - banjo - picking - yeehaw tune! LOL Going to have me some turkey meat soon.

Edit - She's not in boxes yet - but I'll assume that the same principals apply. The day never really ends.

Haha :) So you reset the time in the game menu to 7 a.m. on the day the villager is in boxes and that works?

You can prolong the day, just make sure it doesn't flip to 6am the next day. I open my game in the morning, tell Isabelle I want to reset my time ( making sure the date is still the important one ) and reset to 7 am. After supper I log into my game again and repeat. I don't want to risk sleeping in and having the day flip over to the next one.

yups. i do it all the time. as long as you don't start the game on a new day on a pre-existing character, that villager will remain in boxes. i have maple in boxes on 1/20 and i just keep changing my DS date/time back to 1/20. just make sure that it's after 6am since the game starts a new day at 6am. i've kept villagers in boxes for days before :P
