He's referring to the first Animal Crossing game released in Japan. It was for the N64, but the GameCube version is basically a port of it.

That's not true at all. Beliefs are part of the psychological value system, and a belief is a fact that you, or someone else has created that cannot be changed without a significant life changing situation.
