Can we start getting tans now?

I've only been wearing a bandage on my face, and I've been outside most of the day - will the tan show up?

They do. You can tan on the mainland from July 16th - September 15th, but you're able to tan on the island year round (though I believe you have to go in the morning for the effect to take place)
