I know this was talked about a lot when the update happened but I never really found out the answer. So like say I scanned in an amiibo and that villager advises that they'd have to have someone out first. Would somebody then be able to pick up the villager that was now in boxes?

If that is true could this be a way of cycling villagers? I know if anyone of you are like me and your luck of getting your dreamie amiibo is terrible as well as I hate the ridiculous prices put on a single card and hate the waiting time it comes in the mail. You could literally ask for any villager as long as you have that card and they can be out real quick. > <

I'm sure you can. I did it with Chadder from someone here, but he wouldn't move in. Then I realized that I had 10 villagers. Oops.

Wait, so if you had 10 villagers but scanned a card, would the game automatically put one of your current villagers in boxes?

I'm sure it'll give you the option to whoever you want to move out, unless that only works with special amiibo characters.

It works.

I had 10 villagers and wanted to force Kidd to move out. I scanned in Pashmina, so Wisp (in Pashmina form) asked if Pecan should be moved out. You can chose either yes, quit or "pick somebody else!" I chose the last and then Wisp asked if then Kidd should be moved out. I said Yes.

When I then went to Kidd, he was in boxes. I have seen several cycling threads that confirm that Kidd can be adopted then. It counts as a normal move-out.

However! I had Kevin who pinged me several days beforehand that he would move out in 10 days. Wirhin those 10 days I kicked 2 villagers out by inviting amiibo-card villagers.
Kevin still moved out after 10 days.

So amiibo-move-ins and amiibo-forced-outs don't interrupt the 'normal' move out process!

Thanks for confirming! Man, I am SO excited! Bye bye Jitters! -salutes-

Yep, you can kick out whoever you want! I kicked out the only villager I wanted to leave, Kid Cat, when I scanned Julian's amiibo card.

Wow, so now that I know that it also works for the cards, Greta can finally get out of my town! Whee!

How do you adopt a villager from someone else's town who is in boxes? Do you visit and talk to them?

I always wondered how people utilize the villager exchange thread.

Yeah, they would begin saying they are moving out. Once this ends you'll get two options. Either you ask for the villager to come to your town, or let them move.
