Can Sanrio/amiibo characters leave your town?

I know I have been very active on here today haha but I have a lot of questions :I
I have used amiibo cards for many of the villagers in my town, including the Sanrio characters and was just curious as to if they could move out of town as none of them have ever asked to.
I'm under the impression that you could just scan them straight back in if they were to but just wanted to check

But to answer your question, yes, they can move out once you have a certain number of them (I think 7 out of 10 or 6 out of 9), but it's still pretty rare.

But thanks so much for letting me know, I'll have to keep an eye on my villagers as I have quite a few hehe

Wait I heard that Sanrio, Monster Hunter, Splatoon and Zelda amiibo won't ask to leave your town. You can make them move out using other amiibo, but they can't be adopted.

As for regular cards, yes, they CAN, but it takes an extremely long time. I once had 5 amiibo card villagers in my town. It took over a year in game for Claude to ask to leave.

I think Stella-Io is right, I have had regular card villagers ask to leave but no Sanrio one has asked to do so yet..

About the regular villagers scanned in by card though: I don't think you absolutely need 7 or so of them to have these villagers ask to move out, as I've had one ask me when I had maybe 4 or 5 living in my town.
