Can I pick up Villagers from someone’s void by having them over to my island?

So I managed to get Ankha to move out and I really want that empty spot to remain empty so I can do some Mystery Tour villager hunting but if I have someone over to adopt Ankha, is there a chance I might get someone from their void to move into my town the next day...? I have 10 Villagers right now so, if someone comes to pick up Ankha, I’ll still technically have 10 villagers which means I couldn’t possibly have an empty spot filled by accident, right?

I just really don’t want to have to wait entire weeks again just to move someone out >___< I feel like that’s excessively long, especially since Villagers can’t even move out without your approval anymore.

if you invite someone from island hopping then you won't get the random plot fill.

random plot fill does prioritize people's voids so if you trade online a lot or just play with people in general you'll probably get someone through a void.

Day 1: Villager is in boxes
Day 2: Plot is empty
(Do your NMTs on day two because if you don't...)
Day 3: Random villager or villager from void buys lot
Day 4: villager moves in

Point is, a villager shouldn't move in the day after your current villager moves out. But you should do your island hopping (or invite someone else's villager who is in boxes) on that day. You could get a voided villager or it could just be a random move in. Today I got a random lot sold in on my second island. I know it wasn't a voided villager, because the only person I had any interactions with on my island was myself.

So wait, I could invite a Villager on the very same day that Ankha is moving out? ‘_’

Nope! You would have to wait for Ankha to move out. There would be no one on the islands if there isn't an empty lot available.

Oohhh I’m dumb, ok. So since she officially declared she’s moving today and will be in boxes tomorrow, I should use the NMTs the day after tomorrow?

Yep! If she'll be in boxes tomorrow, the following day will be when you'll need to use your nook miles tickets. So, use your NMT on the day her house is gone.

Use these next two days (today and tomorrow) to save Nook Miles tickets if you need to.

I had a villager in boxes, someone came to collect and brought over their voided villager, which was transferred to my data. The next day I had a free plot and could go island hopping. I didn't find any villager I wanted so the next day my plot was sold to the villager I'd recieved from the other persons void.

I sold Purrl to someone and I did get a voided villager but not from that person. It was my fault because i went island hopping the day the plot was empty and didn't invite anyone to move in(I really regret letting Bettina go). I went to an island to see Celeste and I got Boone from them, he moved in the day after Purrls plot was empty. It's weird though Skye was my first move out(she was in one of the 3 plots that nook has you build in the beginning). He plot was empty for a week or close to. I was surprised cause I did expect it to get taken much sooner. I'm glad it didn't because my next camper after she moved was Raymond and I moved him in immediately.

So the plot was fully empty the day Boone moved in from the void, right? So if I let someone come pick up Ankha tomorrow, there shouldn't be any issues on my end as long as I avoid island-hopping?

Really trying to be careful with all this, getting villagers to move out is already hard enough as it is XD

Yes the plot was empty for one day before he moved in. Island hopping only matters if you invite someone from the island to move in. It doesn't effect giving someone to someone else. They can get Anka as long as she's in boxes. You'll know it worked because after they invite her and she accepts when you click on her door it will say I moved. The next day the plot will be empty and that's the day you go island hopping and move someone in.
