Can I make a villager who moved to another town, move back to mine?

Hiya, I'm sorry if there's been many discussions like this before. I'm curious even more now because of the new update, if it's possible to get a villager that moved to another town, to move back again.

For example, Maple used to live in my town Petunia, but when she went to move, I adopted her in my other town. Since I have 10 villagers in that other town, I was wondering if I could force her out by scanning an amiibo villager and replace her with them. This would put her in boxes straight away, but I don't want to do all this yet...because I don't know if I can get her to move back to Petunia, since she's lived there before...I don't know if it would work and I don't want her to become a voided villager.

Sorry if what I wrote doesn't make much sense, I just want Maple to move back to my main town!

I believe from what other people have said that it works, but only if you've completed the 16-villager cycle. I haven't seen any one post that they've actually done it yet though.

You can move her back into your main town by scanning her card in. The new cards bypass the 16 villager cycle.

Yes, if you get her card you can get her back immediately, but it's a *new* Maple, so if you decorated her house or taught her phrases all that will be replaced by a factory-fresh Maple. If you want your original Maple back it's still the 16-villager cycle. I was going to test it today but.....my second cartridge is missing!

Thankyou I might test it with my other town first but I saw in Maple in Main Street in my town, Petunia. So her data hasn't been deleted yet!
