Can a villager try to move twice in a row?

Marcel was going to move a few days ago, but then he changed his mind and wants us to be better friends. Now today I talk to Stitches and he says that Marcel is thinking of moving!

Is it possible that another villager could have a rumour wrong? Do I need to try and get Marcel to ping again? I've never had this happen to me before.

You're welcome! I was thinking of that when I made it, too. If I saw this happen and freaked out a bit, so would other people if they never had it happen to them.

I was just shocked. I have multiple towns and this has never happened! Like others, tho, the villagers I WANT to move are the ones who almost never ping.

If he's being stubborn about pinging, save and quit, then try to find him again... that usually works. Also, each time you talk to him, talk to him several times if he's not pinging you first.

If you're ok with time travelling, there's a method I've used to force them to ping when I knew villagers wanted to move but were refusing to tell me. Just set the calendar forward by a month or so and use a new character to make sure they'd be gone by then. Quit without saving and set the calendar back to the present. When you use your mayor to find that villager, they should ping you now or bring it up in conversation. If they don't, you can save and quit, and go find them again. It's worked for me before, but I don't recommend using it unless you're really desperate for them to ask you because it's easy to mess it up.

Finally, do you know if there are any events coming up in your town? Villagers won't ping during events.

Yes it happened with Tutu. She wasn't happy that she lost the fishing tournament.
She tried to skip town three time in 10 days.

Teddy did the same thing.

Omg! I love Marcel... Unfortunately, I couldn't kept him not going away. I took a long break from AC before due to school and such. I just neglected my town and I regret it very much. When I came back, Pekoe and Cobb moved out, then Marcel decided to leave... Lol, I actually really like Curt. I have no idea why he wanted to leave twice in the row. xD

Yes indeed. For a while in my old town, it was only Fang that wanted to move, so he pinged me three times in a row.
