Hi, I recently found out about the campsite reset trick. I just wanted to know if I'm doing it right. These are the steps right?

1. Make a new character and see if there's a campsite, if not try again the next day.

2. If there is a campsite, check it to see if you like the villager inside.

3. If you don't like the villager, go to the home screen and turn the game off and start a new character again.

4. If you do like the villager, set up your house on the new character and save.

5. Go on your mayor and ask the villager to move to town.

Are these the steps? Do I have to TT at all? Thank you.

Yes dear! you're doing it correct. :~)

Also, for TT-ing, you don't need to. But if you don't find any villagers while resetting on some days, you can TT to different days as sometimes villagers tend to camp on different days of the week, but you don't really need to TT. ^~^

The first step, you don't need to wait until the next day if you don't find one. You just have to make sure you start on a day when you didn't go in as mayor after 6am. As dreamysnowx says, if you don't see a camper after several tries, it might be best to wait for another day. But, you can sometimes not see any for a few tries and then there will be one.

This is the same question I was going to ask. I've reset 10 times now & was starting to think the camper reset was a myth. I desperately want to fill my remaining space with an animal of my choice before a freeloader moves in

So, even if I do find a camper that day, it could disappear if I make another character on the same day?

Hmm, I haven;t been playing for that long either, but I tried to plot resetting today and I get the hang of that, I believe this works the same way.

1. On any given day (after 6 AM) you must start with a new character, not with your mayor or other saved characters. This is because if you start with those, the town will be saved immediately before you enter it, saving plots/campsites for that day.
2. If the plot/campsite is not to your liking, shut down the game and go back to step 1.
3. If the plot/campsite is where/what you want, make your new character a resident by going to the Town Hall, build your tent with Nook and get your TPC. After this you can save, saving the town and the plot/campsite for that day.
4. After saving and quitting, you go back to the main screen. Now you can delete your new character by demolishing the house (you can also do this later), and then load on your mayor. The plot/campsite should now be as how you've saved it with your new character.

Something like that =) For the plot resetting there are vids on youtube if you don't understand this, it makes it easier to see the steps to take (that's how I did it because I did not get the normal explanation).

So in general, you do not have to TT, unless you have started the day (after 6 AM) with your mayor.

Not as long as you save on the throwaway character that discovers the camper you want. Saving locks in the day. Also before you move in in order to try a different day take a walk around the town and make sure Nook isn't setting up a move in site. If you save when they're moving in it'll be too late.

I finally got a camper & it was Cherry yuck, resetting on, unless a dreamie becomes available on a cycling thread

Good luck, I just found out my wifi doesn't work with AC, so I'm going to try campsite resetting to try and get Marshal.
