Campsite Question

When does the game decide what villager is visiting your campsite on a given day? Does it decide when you open the game, or when you actually enter the tent? Odd question, I know, but I'm campsite cycling and had to kick out a villager, and let a few campsite villagers pass me by. I'm hoping that I didn't accidently skip over my target and completely miss the chance to nab them. Thank you!
