so i unlocked the campsite today. tom nook is telling me that i should check on the villager and see if they want to move in. i went to the campsite and after talking to them once the prompts were "stay at the island" and "you should move here" so i didnt have a choice and backed out of my game before anything happened. the villager in question is eugene and i kind of want to avoid him being a resident. does he have to join in order to progress or will he go away tomorrow?
update: tting didn't do anything, so which villager you get from the campsite first is one that you have to stick with for the time being.
