I can't seem to fix the issue, after multiple attempts at .dlls...

Ok, this is going to take someone that has good knowledge with computers and .dll files.

My problem:
When I open windows movie maker (Windows XP) I get an error saying "The file for video transitions and effects is missing."

Does anyone know of a place where I can get the proper .dll to fix this?

Questions:

What is a .dll file? - To make it simple, it's a registry file that programs need to function.

Post any other questions that you have....

I'd suggest uninstalling and then reinstalling Windows Movie Maker. If you uninstall it and reinstall it, that means you'll get all the files restored. I'm sure Microsoft has the program available for download on their site. If you can't fix it, might I recommend pirating Sony Vegas?

EDIT: You could also try going into control panel>uninstall programs and then select Windows Movie Maker. I know you have two options after doing that. Either "Fix it" or "Uninstall it". Select Fix it and see what happens.

I think i know what the problem is, 1. are you in a diffrent account on your computer?
2. did you deleted it on acsadent (Sorry don't know how to spell that one.)?
3. Did you ever made a video or even saved it?

first of all a dll is a main prgram file
2. idk what the deal is, ive never had that happen, it must not be installed properly.
3. get sony vegas, movie maker sucks

My friend was telling me to fix all computer problems, all you need to do is delete System32
I recommend you don't do this unless you want a crashed PC.

Don't be silly, if you delete the System32 folder it removes any and all problems.
