What do you want me to explain? I thought it was suspicious when he said that. It sounded like he was saying he knew there was a scum messenger. I have no idea if there is actually a scum messenger, but with the amount of scum roles he has slipped I wouldn't be surprised

What I want to know how/why Punchy was "most likey town" in that conversation from what you said about my point.

PunchyDaHufflepuff - I'm only a little concern only because he was telling me that there was a "messenger role". He brought up something like: "Did the messenger post a message yet?".

Oh I forgot to say that this is actually a decent point. Idk when I first saw Punchy say this I immediately wondered if it could be a scum slip and there's a scum messenger that hasn't been using their powers. However I don't think it's very likely and I wouldn't legit sus him over it, but just a thought I had. I still think Punchy is most likely town (although he has started to become a little more quiet)

1. Tina put no quote around it
2. There isn't any "message" in the day 2 post
3. The message you say in the day 1 post pertains directly to the flavor of the story

The quote was obviously part of the flavor Punchy. What genuine messager would reference "Thelxiepeia" in the starting post. That's 100% flavor and also fits into Tina's writing style

Looking the conversation from my perspective of things when I read though it the first time it sort felt like Punchy was deliberately trying to use an act of deception to "rock the boat". At the same time... I thought he was doing that as some kind of "joke" or something.

After Tom flipped Red... It raised some huge Red Flags to me that Punchy was actually trying deceiving Town by "claiming" that there was some kind of "messenger role" in this mafia game.

I just want to know how/why someone can be labeled as "most likely town" for doing something like this. 'Cause it doesn't make any sense to me at all.

If I had to pick a mafia team rn, it’s be Punchy of course, probably Canessa and Glow, then either Amanda or Jacob filling out the final slot

I misremembered it a little bit but to be fair you didn't say that, no. I think I'm coming to that conclusion based on you saying you lost motivation for the game. But you did seem to address the idea of being a night kill before in this game when you said this:

Going after a player and saying some action of theirs signifies they basically 'claimed' one alignment or another in doing so and that is why they deserve to be lynched. Both are newer players to mafia who are going to make slight slip-ups like this and I repeat that both are easy targets to pick apart and try and highlight as scummy. It's just another repeated behavior that stands out to me.

Finally just finished reading everything. This game is a total mess... so, the more things change, the more they stay the same, really!

I have a bunch of posts bookmarked, notes, and thoughts to consolidate. Before I start on writing up that, I want to note here the sequence of events for my entry into the game, for ease of reference later.

I'll also do the RQS to give what I consider essential background info (last game was a nightmare for me with not knowing the pronouns or timezones of most players).

I replaced Gigalabesh due to them not logging in here for three irl days. This was announced in-game by Tina in post # 1241.

I misunderstood when I'd be coming in as the replacement (I assumed it would be done at EoD1). I was off-line when the role PM came through and I didn't see it until around 10:30am my time - EoD had happened already, and thread was still locked. I was asleep again before it was re-opened and have only been awake for the past 5.5 hours. I've spent that time catching up on the thread amongst irl stuff.

It looks like my lack of contribution + vote on D1 didn't have any significant consequence, but that's beside the point. I'm sorry I wasn't here.

dude u reallly gotta stop with the easy target thing. this is a table filled with a majority of newer players

Antonios question is something I still would consider a dumbtell (both town and mafia can dumbtell on accident or on purpose).

Oh ok I see your point. Well, at the time I said that quote, the messenger thing was the only thing I had found suspicious about Punchy. That and his recent quietness. Something in my head said "hey, thats maybe worth looking into," but I wrote him off for the time being as probably town because outside of these two things he seemed to be acting like his normal self. This was before his vote switching at EoD and scumslipsx3. Had he not scumslipped I probably would've looked into him more today

Punchy : the roleclaim seems similar to the whackadoodle one they made up in APM. I need to re-read Millers QT to double-check some of the background to that, but from memory there was no reasoning for where that wild role-claim came from, and it clearly was not fully thought out prior to being made... IDK if they'd repeat such a wildly unsuccessful strategy in this game. It seems like they've been unravelling in the same kind of manner they did in APM and also MWO. Those are probably the main things worrying me on the Punchy front rn. I haven't read a game where they're scum, so that's on my list to read up also.
