Buying Genuine Art From Nooks Cranny

Oh goodness me. How can I make people see what I'm trying to say.

Well lets start off by asking yourself. How much money does each art piece cost?

The Gallant Statue known as Michaelangelo's David statue.in the real world Is worth $200 million. See the point I'm getting yet? Nope ok lets continue.

Museums in the real world have valuable arts up on display. Animal Crossing New Horizons should have a similar value thing for art of how much its originally worth, without Redd's cousin discount. That's why there should be another way of obtaining genuine art.

Blathers could phone you up via the Nook phone. To tell you that Nooks Cranny is getting a wave of genuine art to sell. And he would like to add the price value to the museum info. You then buy a genuine art from Nooks Cranny and then show it to Blathers. If a genuine art has been donated to the museum. He would say that he's already got one but will add the missing value info.

Art is very valuable and should be implemented in the game. Since the game has similar realistic basis with fishes, critters, fossils and sea creatures etc. Art I feel is left out of the value thing.

How much does these art cost in real life? It's awfully expensive. It's not something that a commoner like us can buy it easily.

Let's say if we put it for 200 million Bells. No one will buy it. So your execution failed there. You're putting something that's useless. From a developer's standpoint, it's waste to program that feature into the game.

If we set it for five million Bells, that's too easy. People will buy it. Does it serve the purpose of being expensive? Not really.

For me to accept your suggestion, you need to conduct a study on how much a player makes on average. With so many Bells circulating around the market, I can't really answer that question myself. This brings me to my final question. Other than Redd visiting us every two weeks which is acceptable to the majority, why are you so uptight about looking for other alternatives? (I do agree that the art's value not being recognised much in the game.)

They designed Redd as a shady shopkeeper deviously trying to make you buy his fake art and making a profit from it. (Unfortunately, he underestimated the Internet. People can research and see through his lie. I find this quite hilarious.) This is the reason why we can get a huge discount on acquiring pieces of art. It's as simple as that. It's not our fault if we keep outsmarting him all the time! :D We have very good eyes. (The only exception is when he sells only fake art.)

Don't get me wrong. I am not against the idea. I am just rationalising the reason why we need to put that suggestion up in the first place. I just like challenging people, honestly. Hopefully, I didn't rub you the wrong way. :)

Personally I wouldn't like this because then it ruins the happiness of when redd actually comes. Redd has also been the one selling art in past games for a very long time and I wouldn't like to see that changed.
The art also loses value and becomes another piece of furniture this way instead of being this somewhat valuable, hard to obtain painting

Tom Nook has sold genuine pieces of art in the past (Animal Crossing GameCube, Wild World, and City Folk), all had him sell art from time-to-time in his shop

Well say about 20 million bells? That would take awhile for someone to generally grind up bells the long usual way.

I don't mind you rubbing me the wrong way. Its actually helping to build up my social skills.

I didn't know about that since I've never played other Animal Crossing titles before.

It makes me curious now why they deviated away from that design choice. They decided to make Redd handle anything art related in both New Leaf and New Horizons.

20 million does sounds fair. It's something that's not easy to make even with online trading. In fact, this may potentially give art some value when it comes to trading considering that Redd's appearance rate is quite rare.

I appreciate your response! :) You do have some valid points in your suggestion.

I wouldn't feel any sort of satisfaction from this unfortunately. Part of what makes the art special for me is that it's a rare find. It makes filling up the museum exhibit really exciting and fun. To have art just show up every other day in the store would take that away. At that point, what would Redd's purpose be? Everyone's art exhibit would be complete within just a few months or days if you time travel. I think Redd comes often enough for me (once every 2 weeks guaranteed) and I've been happy just being patient in getting the art. I don't even time travel, or buy them from other people. I don't visit Redd in other towns and I don't look at a guide to tell what's real or fake. And when I get my hands on a real one and donate it, it feels very very satisfying :)

If it was limited to only a few specific paintings, as it was in previous AC titles, I don't think I'd mind it. But really ONLY a few. Though I know this wasn't what your suggestion was. I definitely don't think having all of them available through Nook's would be a good idea, and I don't think they should be orderable from the catalogue. However, I think maybe having one or two, like the Common, Famous, and Flowery paintings available very occasionally (maybe one real painting per month or something) certainly wouldn't ruin the trading economy or Redd's uniqueness.

I hadn't really thought of this at all though, so it was nice getting to consider it and weigh it in my mind with my own personal preferences!

I wouldn't mind if art was sold some other way, like an art gallery event in the plaza or even through a different npc. But supermarket art doesn't appeal to me. If it were one or two occasional pieces, that'd be okay.

I like this idea a lot. Redd often brings me no genuine art. At all. Or repeats of the few that he gave me before. Since I don’t trade on line this will seriously take me years, if ever, to complete.

I wasn't denying the fact that that nook sold some, i was saying redd has sold them for past games and I'd like to keep it that way instead of letting nook sell some.
