Buying: AXE or SLINGSHOT (or both!)

Nook seems to think it's hilarious for him to never stock either of these two items. I, however, do not find it quite so funny.

Is there anyone out there who has an axe and/or a slingshot for sale in Nook's right now that wouldn't mind letting me buy it? I'm especially in need of an axe... too many trees, now that I've gotten more fruit!
