Bug Off!

I just started the bug off today and it’s good so far.
I’ve only got 3 prizes, but I stopped because my switch was low battery so I’ll try again later.
Apparently I did trample a lot of flowers during the event.

I already did mine since I'm a time traveler, but I'm excited more people are gonna be getting these cool items! Both the Bug-Off and the Fishing Tourney DID NOT disappoint with awesome prizes!

The Butterfly Wall is my favorite, I used it in my attic to make a room I want in real life ☺
And the spiderwebs I hoarded for my haunted house

bug off is great. i think it's more fun with more ppl as long as they're not redeeming points all at once.

I plan to at least get the bronze trophy like I did with the fishing tourney. I'll only really want the spider web, maybe termite mound and the butterfly wall & bug artisan cage thing. I don't really care for much else tbh

I personally had much more fun on this event than the Fishing tourney. Probably because I had to run around my island searching for bugs. Meanwhile on the tourney, I just had to stand still, throw my bait, and wait for the fish to bite. Rinse, repeat. I know I can still run around and look for shadows if I'd want to, but still.

I miss the NL prizes like the cicada stereo.

The termite mound and artisanal bug cage were cool though.

I ended up with around six cages.

I just wish getting the trophies wasn't so tedious. I wanted to get all for 300 points to get them but I think 100 is my limit!

I love it. I absolutely love all the prizes and they fit my tropical island setting very well. Today I am somewhat busy so I only played until I got each of every item. but later this week, im gonna tt back and grind for multiple items I want to use in my island decor.

I've done two rounds this morning. Not many bugs at the moment. It's nice to see all the villagers outwith their nets!

I've played for a little bit longer than an hour and I can say it's 10 times better than the Fishing Tourney. It's faster and you can catch more bugs than you can reel in fish, if they spawn when they should lol. However, I think I like the Fishing Tourney items better, but oh well.

It was thankfully way less tedious then the Fishing Tourney, I have an area where I currently dump all my flowers and I just kept walking through there and get 8-17 bugs. Took about 2 hours to get to 300 points compared to Fishing Tourney which took 4.

Bug Off was pretty fun! I actually took my time to get 300 points for the golden trophy, while at Fishing tourney I gave up after a 100+ points

As someone who always fishes when I’m bored in the game and therefore it’s probably my favorite activity; the Bug Off is waaaay better than the Fishing Tourney. I think my issue with the latter is that I do see it as such a relaxing activity and the tourney makes it the exact opposite. On top of that it’s annoying to make the bait. At least with the Bug Off you get to explore your island and catch bugs, which is something I don’t really do.

It's pretty enjoyable until you start to run out of bugs spawning in lol. Also a lot of my town is fenced in so it can make getting bugs difficult sometimes.

Also, do we think they will switch up items you can obtain eventually? Like in a year maybe they’ll update the Bug Off with new items hopefully. Otherwise once you get all the items...what’s the point?

I'm sure all the bugs waited until I was talking to Flick to fly past me... but I did manage to get all the items. I will probably do it again in July to try and get duplicates of a few things.
