Brewster Not Letting Me Work

Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question.

For the past three days, Brewster hasn't been letting me work. I've been going to the shop after 11:00AM and a few days ago, while he was still letting me work, received the uniform. Do I have to wear the uniform to work now, or am I not allowed to work during October? Help!

It’s happening to me too (#+_+) I don’t like the part time jobs anyways so it doesn’t really affect me but still

This occurs in the first week of October because Jack shows up around town so you can talk to him and agree to work for him on Halloween. I don't know exactly why this is the case, but the game counts it as an event of some sort. It's the same reason he doesn't let you work on special days like Halloween itself, the Harvest Festival, Toy Day, Bunny Day, and so on.

You'll be able to work again next week.

Like ZombifiedHorror said, it's because Jack is in town and that it counts as an event. Unfortunately you just can't work on holidays like Toy Day or Bunny day, but don't worry, you'll still be able to work for him after the first week.
