Brainwashed villagers.

The fishing tourney just seems like a little bit of a waste. 1: All of your villagers that aren't in there home are brain washed and will only talk about fish, and how to fish. And I already have a gold trophy, I don't need another. Well, if Nintendo made it that you can talk to villagers regularly instead of these brainwashed monsters, that would be O.K.

I know like I wouldn't mind if they talked about fish AND normal things but just fish is silly and makes me not want to talk to them on tournament days

After the award ceremony the start to talk normal again.

Yeah, sometimes I don't even play on fishing tourney or bug-off days because they just seem useless to me.

I'm with you. I'd rather still be able to commission PWPs and get pinged for PWP suggestions, while the tournament goes on.

I know, the fishing tourney is a waste of time. I don't need another gold trophy. I can't even build new PWP's or have a normal conversation with my villagers

I agree. I already got all of the fishing furniture/trophies so I just TT passed those days now. :/

I skip the tourneys. I like Bug-Offs though, because I like my villagers' reactions when I catch their bug.

I now just show up 30 minute before it's over. I'm trying to get a bronze trophy.
I do visit the villagers inside to see if anyone is trying to skip town. Last night a villager spilled and a move was stopped.
They also did some swaps with me. One items was something I needed for my other town catalog. Saved a few bells.

It annoys me a lot too. Especially since I didn't even bother to take part in it this time, so I had nothing else to do really.
