Braces.

I had mine from 7th grade to halfway through my junior year in high school so I feel your pain. It's awful -- Like a really terrible headache but it doesn't fade in and out even a tiny bit.

My parents don't believe in braces, because truly, your teeth shouldn't be perfectly straight.

Oh, and the thousand dollar+ price tag turns them away.
I'm glad I'm in the Uk then as they're free.

I had braces and to handle the pain I just took painkillers? ;)

I got them 2 years ago, and had 'em off last year. I don't see why everyone makes so much of a big deal of how they hurt so much.

I don't understand why everyone said it hurts so bad.
My orthodonist never made it hurt, even when they tightened it, and they came out perfectly straight. And no, I didn't talk any pain relieve or anything.

my friend got em this year, he had to miss 3 days of school because they hurt so bad.
although, i dont know if he was just being a prissy little boy, because he usually overreacts to a lot of things. but he said it felt like his mouth was on a vise, so it probably hurt at least somewhat.

Does it hurt when you first get them or does it last?
I had trouble eating the simplest things when I got them, and after every appointment when they get tightened, they hurt, but not nearly as bad as the first time. Getting them off is kinda uncomfortable, but nothing like first getting them on. Getting them off finally feels good, though.
