Blood donations.

Just had one at my school last week. I mostly just help out as staff, but I donate every now and then.

Edit: To be honest, I've never even heard of a weight limit. Only 102lbs but w/e.

I've been denied before because my blood pressures too low! (they thought the blood would come out too fast and I'd pass out).

Otherwise, I do every chance I get (every few months).

I try to, but recently it's been difficult because I walk an average of two miles every day on my college campus, and trying to do that after giving blood...I don't want to experience that .___.

Donating blood is such a fulfilling experience, omg. * ^ * <333 I've donated a solid 7 times in the past three years, and I've never had complications or regrets. I feel even better knowing that I have type O - blood; universal donor aww yeee B) <3

I've only donated once and my experience wasn't great. I would do it again, but not at the same campus I got it done at.

If they give out free food I'm more likely to do it as I feel woosy afterwards and being able to eat something really helps.

They are really careful about that stuff and don't want you passing out.

Every time I donate, I am always given food and water. Always. Before and/or after, depending on how hungry I am. I usually donate to the Red Cross or some other organization that appeared on my college campus.

I said I was a little dizzy once (it really wasn't that bad) and the nurses were all over me. They told me to lie on the ground, so I was just lying there with my legs elevated and everything despite insisting I was fine lol.

So I don't think they'd leave you hanging; they do ask if you are a little dizzy or woozy afterwards.

Anyway, I've donated over the years and it's really nothing. Just wait to be called, lie down, donate, then eat/drink.

I don't recommend donating blood on a really hot day because you can pass out.

I've also been rejected once for being low on iron, but it was because I was in jogging mode every other day.

I'm not allowed to medically, sadly.
It's a real shame because my blood type is is O- and we really need O- blood...
Other O- need it desperatly and all other blood types can benefit from it.
I would if I could though. :)

I donated the first time because I wanted to find out my blood type. xD Now that I do know, I don't really like to do it. Mostly because I'm AB+ so I can pretty much only donate blood to those who also have AB+ blood, so it's kinda moot since AB+ blood can pretty much receive any type of blood...

I've only donated blood one other time, and that wasn't a very good time. I almost passed out in the chair and then I guess they didn't put the needle in properly because I got a bruise at the site. It's starting to go away at least.
