Blather's Won't Think?

I really want to unlock the 2nd floor of the museum... but I can never find him thinking... am I doing something wrong?
I started the town on 3/13.
I have 4 art, over 20 fossils, over 10 bugs, and over 10 fish and dive. ((don't feel like counting))
So why can I never find him thinking?
I have been in the museum everyday... and multiple times a day... But he is never thinking...
Am I still missing something?

That's for the Cafe... but anyways, I have over 50 with the fossils, fish, and bugs ((forgot I track the amount on my phone. XP))

You'll need to have donated 20 items, including 1 in each category. At some point he'll be thinking. You'll just have to wait for it.

You're town isn't even 3 weeks old. Take it easy, at some point you'll unlock it.

I want to get it unlocked fast because it IS a new town...
I don't want to clutter my new home with items I want to keep...
And I am working on getting perfect town, so I don't want to litter the ground with items either. =/
Plus, I want to host a giveaway and do photos with all the items... but I don't want to destroy my home's layout to do that then have to put everything back... so tedious.

Have you talked with him every single day? You have to talk with him on 14 separate days, I believe. As long as you've talked with him, he should be asking soon.

I had the same issue and I started playing on St. Patrick's Day. I heard you have to be mayor for at least two weeks.

I went into the museum today and he was thinking!!!! Patience friends!

I know the first week I had to have talked to him every day because I kept getting things to donate. ^^'

Even if you don't have anything to donate, just wake him up and say bye. If you talked to him in the first week, you should only need a few more. Be sure to talk with him every day for the next few days and see if it unlocks for you. c:

Seconding this; I started on the same day, and today have unlocked and paid off my renovation PWP.

That's approx 14 days, so maybe talking to him on each day is also essential.
