I've seen a few posts about what do you do with your Nook Miles, but what do you do with your bells?

I'm pretty happy with my island as it is, I might tweak it here or there, but mostly terraforming so doesn't really involve any spending.

Enjoy island hopping, so no longer buy/trade villagers and really have nothing to spend bells on.

I don't even buy turnips anymore (by the way, I didn't purchase any bells nor do I have loads, but I just don't spend them).

Is anyone else really spending bells?

PS I do buy cute clothing from Abels, but that hardly breaks the bank.

Honestly, not anymore. Early on with the game, I did a lot of turnip selling, and now, I'm sitting comfortably with the amount I earned. Of course, my major expenses were just the infrastructure - moving houses and building bridges/inclines. In addition, it was also buying furniture both from cataloging and from Nooks.

Nowadays, I don't buy turnips anymore, and every time I trade, people seem to prefer NMT or TBT so my bells have become pretty obsolete. I do buy clothes here and there, but like you said, it's never enough to actually create a dent on what I've saved up. I just plan to have them in case a new update rolls around and I may need to withdraw and spend a lot. 😅

i spend it on upgrading my house, bridges/stairs, infrastructure changes, etc. i would say that the thing that hurts my wallet the most is moving the different shops/houses, since i moved them all to the beach and will eventually have to move them all back + tweak the positions a little.

I'm still in the process of paying off my last loan (since I like to have about 1mill in the bank lol). Otherwise, I mostly use bells for purchasing items at Nook's. I used to use them occasionally for villager trades or something, but not too often anymore since it's so easy for people to get bells these days. So basically, furniture! I also still need to put a bridge or two in

Earlier I spent it moving the villager houses mostly on the right to accommodate the museum then built/remodeled the bridges. After that,
I started to focus on fully upgrading my house then two more houses for my alt. characters. Right now, I'm in the process of maximizing the fourth house. I also needed to buy stuff from Nook's and reorder in the catalog to decorate each room. That cost a lot as well.

Wow ok, I had to move literally EVERYTHING to get all the houses and shops where I wanted them. That alone burn a hole in my pocket. I’m talking about 700,000 IGB total, probably way more. That’s mainly what I did with my bells. I also paid off my house loan in full and buy the occasional thing on here or in Able’s/Nook’s. I did a lot of things that I didn’t expect would happen, but honestly moving all the buildings didn’t cost as much as I would have though. (Paying off my house loan though, WOW :0. Didn’t think it would be so many million bells.)

I splurge now and only buy designer tools 😅

Still in the early stages of an island revamp so most of my bells are going towards buying bushes, flowers, trees, and items. Moving buildings and building all new bridges/inclines is clearing out my ABD too.

I used to buy everything at Able's but now only buy a few variants of items I really like (which is turning out to be most of the new summer stock).

I did a lot of stalk exchange so it doesn't worry me at all now

I use it mainly to relocate buildings and buy items on discord, but everyone seems to look for NMTs anyways so I don't even know what to do with them other than just sit there and collect interest (which is never a bad thing)

I have a solid amount of NMTs from selling Celeste recipes so I mainly use those to catalog or trade items

I'm still 500k shy of paying off my basement loan. I've mostly used bells to purchase the expensive things at the Nook's or move houses as I do landscaping. Today I've found that I actually want to use a brick bridge where I've had a stone bridge for months, so now I'm working that out

I tear down inclines everyday and rebuild them. I’m still not done with the placement for my town, so there’s a lot or relocating going on with villager houses, shops and character house. I also haven’t fully upgraded my house yet. Still have a long way to go with bells.

I'm planning to move some buildings around, also considering making another character so that could eat up my savings pretty fast

I don't do catalog trading with others so I still spend my money on quite a few hefty-priced items in the shop. But that and clothes are pretty much all I'm spending bells on. Now that my infrastructure is pretty much set up the way I want it I don't see myself spending any more on that. I'm content with just putting all the extra bells in the ABD :)

I will likely always have a use for bells. I intend to make additional characters, both to add more to my town's world history theme and to give me more storage space, so that will involve a lot of bells trying to pay off expansions to their houses. I also tend to buy stuff I haven't acquired yet from Kicks, the Able Sisters and the Nooklings' store to try to fill my catalogue, so there's that too. I don't have a ton of bells, and I don't really like the Stalk Market (though I might try it in the future), so I just live off of what I earn from selling fish, bugs, fossils, seashells, fruit, and crafted items or furniture and clothing I no longer need.

The majority of my bells are just saved away in the ABD, since I’ve already paid my home off. Not particularly looking to redesign my island at the moment, so they’re kinda saved for a moment when I do. Otherwise I just pull them out for the occasional turnip purchase or the spotlight item from Nook’s.
